(Students who plan to transfer a completed associate degree should review the Environmental Science and Policy Completion Degree information below)
The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Policy (ES&P) degree is an interdisciplinary STEM program that draws upon undergraduate course offerings from the College of Health Professions and Natural Sciences, as well as the Colleges of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Technology, and Business. Students will acquire the requisite skills to preserve and protect the limited and fragile natural resources in the state of Delaware and beyond.
The ES&P degree is practical, career-oriented, and a springboard for graduate education. Aligned with the University’s mission of providing exemplary career-oriented degrees, graduates can market themselves to local, state, and federal agencies; private and non-profit organizations; and academia, for a range of environmental science positions.
Students may complete courses face-to-face, online, hybrid. Face-to-face courses are offered at a variety of locations and times. All courses are taught by highly qualified faculty who are practitioners in the field.
In addition to the University’s undergraduate graduation competencies, students will:
1. Apply the scientific method to answer environmental science questions;
2. Demonstrate proficiency with basic laboratory skills;
3. Formulate policy recommendations based on scientific and stakeholder data;
4. Evaluate quantitative and qualitative environmental science data;
5. Appraise environmental science and biodiversity concepts to determine the environmental impact;
6. Analyze cell and molecular processes to determine mechanisms of evolution;
7. Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills.

Field experience should be considered for students not already working in the ES&P field. A 15-credit semester would cover the 6-credit requirement for Co-op and 9 credits of Free Electives.
Co-op Education Experience for Science
A minimum of 120 credits are required to earn a Bachelor of Science in ES&P. Students with less than 16 transfer credits are required to take FYE 101 as one of their electives. Due to the mixture of 3 and 4-credit courses, students must be diligent and regularly meet with an academic advisor.
A completion degree is an individualized degree plan for students who have completed an Associate Degree at an accredited institution. Following a review of transcripts reflecting a conferred Associate Degree , academic advisors will provide an individualized degree plan.
A minimum passing grade of "C" is required for courses with prefixes: BIO, ENV, LES, and POL. MAT 308 requires a minimum passing grade of "C-."
Additional course work as needed to meet 120 credits for graduation.
The following courses (or their equivalent) are pre-requisites for the Environmental Science and Policy completion degree and must be taken at 香港伦理 or accepted as transfer credit from an accredited institution.
