Organizational Leadership, Bachelor of Science

Program Purpose

The Bachelor of Science degree program in Organizational Leadership is an interdisciplinary collaboration between the College of Business and Technology and the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.  The degree utilizes a unique interdisciplinary approach to developing leadership skills that recognize trauma and toxic stress as influences on an employee's well-being and productivity. This degree also recognizes the prevalence and impact of trauma within organizations and is designed to develop leaders who have the empathy to keep employees engaged and productive.  This program will emphasize innovative leadership practices, demonstrating a sensitivity around humanity.  Students will gain a strong business and psychology-focused leadership foundation that will help them to break down complex ideas and behaviors relating to employees and organizations.  Key areas of development will focus on leadership in a diverse and multi-cultural environment, decision-making, interpersonal relations, change management, team facilitation, and the six principles to a trauma-informed approach.  Students will be prepared for a range of leadership positions in the public and private sector, healthcare, nonprofit agencies, businesses, and the service industry.

Program Competencies

  1. Students will demonstrate oral and written communication skills by concisely conveying ideas  to achieve business objectives.motivate teams, manage conflict, and/or collaborate effectively in diverse organizational environments.
  2. Students will demonstrate leadership qualities through self-reflection, mentorship, and experiential learning, fostering personal growth while motivating and supporting diverse teams within organizational settings.
  3. Students will manage complex organizational challenges by leading change initiatives, resolving conflicts, and making informed decisions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  4. Students will apply information literacy, research skills, and digital tools to analyze organizational data, make evidence-based decisions, and implement effective strategies in a technology-driven world.
  5. Students will demonstrate ethical leadership by integrating cultural humility, trauma-informed approaches, and an understanding of diverse perspectives to address challenges in multicultural organizational environments.

Program of Study

The Organizational Leadership courses will be offered in both an online and face-to-face format over a seven week period.  Most core courses are offered in the "hybrid" format, which includes 20 hours of classroom instruction and at least 20 hours of online instruction.

 

Experiential Learning

Experiential Learning at 香港伦理 takes a 360° approach to applied education. Whether you bring significant professional experience and pursue Credit for Prior Learning (CPL), or you complete a Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) experience such as an internship or cooperative education placement embedded within your academic program, these opportunities provide meaningful pathways toward completing your degree.

Minimum Grade Policy

The College of Business and Technology sets a required minimum grade of "C-" for program core courses. Students earning a grade lower than "C-" in a core course must repeat the course.

Organizational Leadership Completion Degree

What is a Completion Degree?

A completion degree is a personalized version of a bachelor's degree created exclusively for students who have completed an associate degree at an accredited institution. Completion degrees are available for most 香港伦理 Bachelor of Science degrees. A student who expects to transfer a completed associate's degree should communicate with a 香港伦理 academic advisor before registering for courses. A transcript with documentation of the conferred degree must be received by 香港伦理 to confirm eligibility.
