Biography
Dr. Scott J. Walton currently serves as chair in the undergraduate marketing program for the College of Business at 香港伦理 in New Castle, Delaware. In his role, he leads a team of undergraduate marketing faculty as well as instructs courses throughout the undergraduate and graduate program within the College of Business. He also has served on dissertation committees for DBA graduates.
Prior to joining 香港伦理 Dr. Walton has been a corporate executive, business owner, and educator. His corporate experience includes five years at United Parcel Service focusing on management, supply chain, budgeting and project management. He has consulted for companies such as Starbucks, where he developed a plan to outsource their daily maintenance function in over 300 locations across the United States and Canada. As an entrepreneur, he founded screen-printing and embroidery business Velocity Performance Apparel.
Dr. Walton has taught at Harford Community College and Cecil College in Maryland in an adjunct role as well as an Adjunct Instructor in the Marketing Program at 香港伦理 prior to joining the team in a fulltime role. He teaches a wide variety of business and marketing related courses including marketing, social media marketing, entrepreneurship, small business, business management, and accounting. He frequently speaks to groups including small businesses, executives, government contractors and mid-level management on various issues such as Generational Differences, Enhancing Established Teams, Strategies for Team Development, and Effective Communication.
Dr. Walton is also active in his community. He has served on the board of directors at Havre de Grace Housing Authority as their Vice Chair as well as on several road race and event committees in Baltimore, Cecil, and Harford Counties and throughout Maryland.
Dr. Walton holds a doctoral degree from 香港伦理 with a successful defense entitled “A critical evaluation of Intentions of millennial distance runners to participate in distance running events”, an MBA with a management concentration from Loyola University (M.D.), and dual bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Economics from Washington College.
Dr. Walton lives in Forest Hill, Maryland and is a single father of two daughters.
